Another Week In Review

This week has been especially hectic. P1 was in session and I went for classes in both Sunway and the city for reinforcement. No i'm not being kiasu or anything. Just that I'd like additional revision since I've practically left this paper in the dark for some time. Revision in KL was during the weekend: Sat, Sun and Mon. On Sat I went with Stella and Vern Yen. Called them last minute cause didn't think of it till then. Texted VY when I was getting ready to leave the condo. It was so because I myself never thought I would take classes outside my own uni. Hope that does not represent any form of betrayal.

Friday class was from 2 to 9. We had dinner at McD. VY had the BigMac chant voucher so both of us decided to try it out while Stella and Linus ordered their regular meal. And yes, we were able to accomplish it in less than 4 seconds. Scored ourselves a free meal.

The BigMac took quite some time to be served, we hoped they did not add 'ingredients' for us free-loaders lol. Class ended at night and I spent the night at sis's so she could take me to the lrt the following day since her place was near one.

Saturday class was from 10am. Reached 15 min late. Not too late thank goodness. Was a fresh approach listening to a new lecturer. So you can see that I was paying attention (of course I had to, I paid for it haha). He was quite a funny lecturer in not only his lectures but his behaviour. He's a PhD holder and yet his antics never failed to make me laugh. Us Sunway students seemed to be the few students who were amused by him. The rest of the class was probably used to him. Lunch was at the back alleys along Petaling Street. It was obviously unhygienic and the smell. But the gang wanted to try out the noodles. They were nice. Guess that's what that makes these hawkers so unique. Petaling Street was very vibrant. I can see all the imitations of designer bags, shades, watches. It was kind of funny.

Class ended but this time I asked my sis to give me a lift back to Sunway. Had an appointment with Suyin. She came to Sunway for some school trip but was going to meet her for her bday dinner! Had to turn down a family dinner as uncle from Ipoh was down and they were going to The Gardens it seemed. Torn between two loves lol. But sis did the job for me as she wasn't feeling very well herself. Besides I made the appointment with Suyin first.

I rushed like mad back home, got myself ready after a whole day class. Met her in Pyramid. Was really glad to see her as it has been a while. Actually not too long ago we met in Ipoh lol. She had a few friends over and later Myke joined us too. We had dinner in Italiannies. Ordered the Arrabiata Seafood Rice if I remembered the name. The seafood was really fresh. We shared as she was still feeling bloated from the tea breaks she's been taking.

After that where else but a place to 'talk about life' haha. Went to Republic which was just next door. Oh before that we walked around the mall. Went to Machines and the girls were like cross examining the shop. More of the shop assistant actually lol. In Republic, we took the corner seat with the sofa and ordered drinks. It was nice catching up. The DJ was spinning some hits. Mostly RnB and Hip Hop. There were a couple of African Americans ladies and they were shaking their booty in no time. We sang Suyin a birthday song. Twice actually. With a slice of cake from Myke and I. We left shortly after midnight as Suyin had to be back by then and I had to get my rest for tomorrow's class. Accompanied her back to Pyramid Tower. Happy Birthday Suyin!!

The following day, managed to wake up and take a cab to the LRT and then to Kasturi. Class was as usual but due to little sleep, I was nodding off before lunch. After lunch which was at some famous beef noodles, it got better. The beef noodles were alright but I prefered the one my family and I always have in Ipoh. Still, I think Ipoh has the best food, comparatively. When we were on the train back, I was still contemplating whether I should come for the QnA as I was initially there only for revision. Besides, Sunway was going to have the 30 hours QnA and I was planning to go for it. In the end, I went for both. Sis took me for dinner. We had the porridge again and then she went for a car wash which took blardy long...

It was really tiring for the first 2 days, I went for both, so it was like from 8am to 10pm plus by the time I reached the condo. The first day of Mr Goh's class was quite dreading. We did the previous sitting paper and he kept saying that he does not understand how the 'seniors' were not able to make it. I understood how disappointed he was but it was also not our intention to not make it. Jon-Ming taking a break.Taking the LRT during office hours were madness. It was so packed, could barely breathe in one of the trains. At the end of the second day, Mei Ching, my sis's ex housemate asked me to be one of the 'actor' for Ee Lis's surprise birthday bash. I told her to not put me as the key player as I had no energy left haha. How fast the year passes. Remembered we planned a really good one last year when my sis was still staying here. She was delighted. Happy birthday Ee Lis!

Ok a moment off my boring week. Someone won the best talent search show on Earth! The current American Idol is none other than.. Ok you should stop reading this is you have yet to know. I actually watched the whole show downloaded as I don't have the TV. Being busy and the fact that downloading takes time (thanks to Joshua for providing me with most of the episodes), all are delayed 'telecast'. When the finale was approaching, I practically rushed all the episodes from top 6 within a week. There were some surprises along the way as I tried to avoid news on Idol. I did not expect Carly Smithson to exit the show so soon and Jason Castro to stay so long. Syesha Mercado was one of the best but had a poor top 3 show and could definitely not beat the popular Davids. Brooke White was my personal favourite cause she has this singer-songwriter look and this sincere authentic voice. Love her! I also like Ramiele Malubay but her performances in the top 12 was mediocre. She had to go. Sigh.

I avoided all forms of media and news coverage about the finale and the winner cause I didn't want to spoil it for me. I wanted to be surprised and soak in the anticipation when Ryan Seacrest announces the winner. I thought I can do it this time but to no avail, I got to know it. How? Someone's blog. :( How can I forget about blogs? So dumb of me. You should have like put a spoiler warning or something like how I did lol. Anyways, I was expecting the two Davids to be in the finale since they have a very strong fan base. This must be one of the most intense competition. And my guess was David Cook was gonna win cause he's a better performer, he's an original and versatile singer. Look at his performances. My personal favourite is Always Be My Baby during Mariah Carey's Week. David Archuleta on the other hand is a charming young singer, very good in ballads and perhaps only ballads but he seems to be very young and humble to handle winning the title. I think he's not ready. But he's definitely a very good singer.

During the finale performance however, DA seemed to perform better and got Simon Cowell impressed and confident on how a "knock out" it was. And everyone knows Simon is rarely wrong. Then, realising that there was a possibility DC could win, moments before the announcement, he did a 'disclaimer' lol. He was practically laughing when the winner was announced. And so the winner is... David Cook. I was satisfied with the results. He deserved it. The ironic thing was at the start of the season, Timothy was like asking me in the Cbox whether I still followed the show and telling me DC's brother stays in the same hall with him lol! I'm sure young David did not loose anything. He's going to be successful some day. And how he's got all the ladies, young and old, screaming for him lol. MTV Asia has an article of why he didn't win though here. It's been a wonderful season and I've followed it closely. The best talent show everrr!

Back to life. I'm going home soon. Yes to Ipoh. I'm taking my exams there. Why? Cause I want to be at home and have mum cook for me and do all the chores for me haha. Well, cause sis is not sitting it here too so I don't want to be alone. Though I have to apologise for leaving my cousin there. Sorry. The fact that I didn't want to get thrown to another centre like in December. This year they do not provide bus. In Ipoh, it's not a totally new place cause it's in my ex-college, Sunway Ipoh. Gonna see all my friends! At the same time, gonna miss PJ and my friends...

Oh by the way, this is my centennial post. I thought the next one will be the 100th which I have set aside something else for it, but I lost count! Gosh! Anyways, hope there's more to come. =)
